Cub Scouts Spring into the Year
It’s that time of the year when we spring out to the outdoors; time to shake the cold away and get READY TO CAMP. This April Trail of Tears will be having a Spring Camporee hosted by the District on April 15-17 at Boxwell Scout Reservation at Camp Stahlman. The theme this year is "NASCUB RACES”. With a them like that it must be time again time to clear off that table, put that thinking cap on, get the tools out and get creative with that piece of pine wood. You guessed it its District Pinewood Derby Races held at Stahlman Dinning Hall on April 16th. Check in begins 8:15am and Races start 10:00am. These Races is where we find out who rains supreme of Trail of Tears. As see whose car is the fastest and the coolest design. Don’t forget to sign up. To register and all other inquiries contact Linda Veach: firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-615-848-4848.

Let’s Get Trained! As Every Boy Deserves a Trained Leader
Leadership and confidence are critical to success in Scouting and life. The Middle Tennessee Council offers various training programs so you have the skills, the knowledge, and the experience it takes to help Scouts learn to make the most of their opportunities.
The training mandate will require top unit leaders – SMs, CMs, Varsity Coaches, Venturing Advisors, Skipper and Explorer Advisors – be fully “trained” for their registered position, effective 01-01-11. Please refer to the “Umbrella of Scouting” as to what constitutes a “trained leader” in each program. Click here to view "Umbrella of Scouting"
Trail of Tears is working to ensure quality support for our units. Since we have so many units, we need lots of help to reach all of them. We are building up our Commissioner staff in order to better serve our units. If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of our Commissioner team please contact Jason Flannery. We would love to have you serve as a Unit Commissioner to help support our District. For more information about what it takes to be a Commissioner check out http://www.scouting.org/Home/Commissioners.aspx
