Sleep in the Deep Overnight Adventure
During the winter holiday, Pack 205 took part in the Sleep In The Deep overnight adventure program at the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. The trip included a guided tour of all the aquarium attractions, a chance to feed several animals, hands-on reptile encounters, and a behind-the-scenes view of all the work that goes into operating the aquarium. At the end of the evening, we slept in the Undersea Cavern, surrounded by stingrays, sea turtles, sharks, and fish of all kinds.
Eagle Scout Award
Alex Gilley, Matthew Harper, and Ben Meacham of Troop 210 were recognized in a ceremony on January 12, 2014 as earning the highest advancement award the Boy Scouts offers - Eagle Scout. For their Eagle project, they chose to restore trails that are part of the Ellington Agricultural Center Trail System.
The Epic Road Trip
Troop 210 and 1161 combined forces for an “Epic” road trip on MLK holiday weekend. With stops at the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, USSAL Battleship in Mobile, Civil Rights Institute and Vulcan Park, and Museum in Birmingham, it made for a very full itinerary. Scouts reported how much fun it was to go on a trip with another unit. Thank you to all who planned and made this trip possible!
