New Leader, BALOO and Outdoor Leader Skills are all scheduled on a training weekend in September. Make plans to attend. In addition, we will have a BOBCAT Day to help all our new Cub Scouts earn their Bobcat Badge.
Youth Protection Training
YPT is a must do for all of us. Make sure that your training is current. Every district level event will provide you the opportunity to get this done.
New District Committee VolunteersJoin me in welcoming our newest committee members. Gayle Pack is the new District Commissioner. Tom Kelly has agreed to be the District Order of the Arrow Advisor. Please join me in welcoming them to their new positions on our team.
Friends of Scouting Success
2015 has been a great year for Friends of Scouting in the Black Fox District. Through the efforts of a great team of volunteers led by Tim McGill, Geeta McMillan, Vester Parsley Wally Bigbee and Jim Carden, we were able to reach our goal in all 5 divisions. Thank you all for your support!
Friends of the River Cleanup
The annual river cleanup was be held Saturday, July 18. Over 300 people cleaned debris from the Barren Fork River. 500 pounds of recyclable material, 7 tons of trash and 200 tires were removed from the river. 28 Boy Scout canoes and many current and former scouts were a part of this effort. A big thanks to all who partnered with the Breakfast Rotary Club of McMinnville for this event.
